Well...every parents had warned me about this. And every time I heard the stories I always thought "What in the world were you thinking?!" And suddenly -- it too happened to me.
Jayden fell off our bed like a Humpty Dumpty this morning -- and onto the HARDWOOD floor!! I placed him in the middle of the bed surrounded with some blankets -- and since he was not rolling over or crawling yet -- I assumed he was safe. So I turned my back to head to the washroom and then BOOM!!! I heard this loud thud and my heart leap out. I quickly turned around and found Jayden lying face down on the floor crying.
How could this had happened? Did he finally rolled over? Or perhaps he tried crawling? Or maybe ... just maybe ... he did a somesault and then a cartwheel and landed off the bed?! Haha. I don't know.
I am just happy that he is OK and nothing serious had happened. When I told my coworkers, they all laughed and said there will be plenty more "bumps and brusies" along the way. I guess this is my "induction" to motherhood.
poor Jayden, glad you're ok, it's part of growing up. Baby really amazes you, you don't know what they can do. Val fell out of her crib around 8 months old before we raised the rails. She was able to stand by herself, and we didn't know she was able to climb over the rails at that age. It was a very scary moment for us.
