Moving Up?

Ever since Jayden was born, Patrick and I had stayed in our downstairs bedroom (with the crib being in the same room). Now that Jayden is sleeping through most of the night -- we are considering sleeping back upstairs (with Jayden sleeping in his own room).

It is going to be very hard for me having him in a separate room. Perhaps it is just anxiety -- I just like the idea of just looking over and seeing that he is sleeping peacefully. I'm thinking of getting perhaps a video baby monitor -- so I can ease my mind. Not sure how well those really work in a dark room though. Hmm.

They work pretty well. One of my friends uses one and I've seen the monitor. It's pretty neat! It's the next best thing to GPS. =)

Monitor schmonitor...If you guys still feel uneasy about leaving Jayden in his own room, who says ya have to? If you feel better about being closer to your baby and you believe that he will benefit from your mutually proximity then I don't see any reason for rushing this separation. Many families in America are even sharing beds well into the time when their kids are school-aged. That may be a little extreme but I do believe that the longer you stay close to Ji-Ming while he's developing, the stronger the emotional bonds you will enjoy as he grows up.
