Finally after constant fighting with ComCrap and their bogus Cable modem prices, I decided to leave. The last call ended with, "oh, if you subscribe to cable tv, your rate will be cheaper for 6 months a total of $55 dollars a month. After being a loyal customer and getting various promotions thats all they could do. So I ended up saying, oh well I take it for now, but I am calling At&t right after this call and ordering DSL with comparable speeds. His answer was that no one cancels for dsl. Whatever! He really got me pissed.
So I ordered dsl with a comparable promotion of 3 months free, free modem, setup-- blah blah. Elite is $35 bucks a month boasting 3-6mbs/sec. Few days later I get it and cancel comcast right away.
They answer now was that since you have decided to leave we can give you that promotion that we did previously. $20 a month for 6 months, then you can call back and ask for another promtion after 6 months. That is totally bogus and I dont feel like I need to call back every 6 months to complain about the cost. So BYE BYE.
Dsl setup was fine, but my speed rates weren't coming in at all as fast as advertised. I call and the tech, which I have no doubt about was from India, said that is advertised rate. This guy pissed me off. I was getting no more that 400kbps from their own speed tests. So I just say OK and called back the next day and got someone who knew the difference between 400kbps and 3-5mbps. Kinda got worried there about serice, but after the phone people trouble shooted my case, i was getting 5.0mbps and it wasnt too shabby.
The point of the story, I rather pay $35/month stable rather than a $20 flexible rate which decides to go to $60 every 6 months. So unlike unsatisfied customers at the pharmacy--- I left. There is always other people who want my money!
P.S. A3 pics are coming, once I stop having soo much fun driving!
