*AWESOME* Table.

Got the pool table installed. It was soooo cool watching them put together the table, leveling it, and stapling the cloth onto the slate. And I am glad I go the blue cloth because it makes the table brighter and it's more of a BRIGHT blue than dull. Although we dont need a light installed, it would probably make the area more presentable. I'll probably pick a stainless steel type 3-bulb light once I get enough guts to wire a electrical box for it!

My first memories of shooting pool are from playing at my parents home on a HOME-made pool table which the previous owners left to us. That stupid table was soo bad that if you leaned on it, the pool balls would start to roll down the table. The pool balls were numbered and colored right, but the cue ball (white) was soo beat up that it and had so many dents in it and made it look like a golf ball. The cue sticks were in bad conditions -- that it had super-glued tips on them which flew off every other shot. Yeah, it was bad and totally not worth keeping. I think my grandfather taught my sisters and me how to shoot pool. And its a funny thing because both Patricia and I were taught how to play WRONG. I say WRONG because we are both right handed yet we hold the cue with our left hand. Oh well, I guess it could be worst, I remember having a friend playing tennis with his opposite hand too!

After we THREW out the pool table and installed a bedroom, I shot pool ocassionally. Heck, I thought paying like 20 bucks an hour was kinda expensive on my income!

Then came UIC. Hehehe. You know. Where shooting pool was an easy past time! And for three bucks an hour?? It was an easy and an affordable way to enjoy time during--- I mean after classes. I remember the times when the pool group would rack up a 20-30 dollar bill at the UIC east side pool room. One individual wasnt actually there all that time, but one of the group was always there. And at that time the game seemed upgraded. We played on tables which were Brunswick Gold Crown just like the ones in the tournements and played with dull pool balls with FEW dents. It was a miracle if you got to use a pool stick which was barely crooked.

Then came pharmacy school. Which was basically, no pool at all. It was hard to squeeze it in because we had to study rather than cram like undergrad. That lesson hurt!

Now owning table at home is a full circle. A nice table with smooth cloth, shiny new cue balls, and straight pool sticks. Having the proper equipment for the sport is must.

Pics are coming soon. There is a wall cue rack, but the stupid thing is backordered until JUNE!!!! Arrrgghhh.
