Thanks to Netflix, for the last few weeks I’ve been catching up to my Japanese animation. The latest one is the 12 Volume 48+ episodes of Kimagure Orange Road. It was a series that I never got around to watch in grade school because back then you either had to buy the tapes/LD or borrow them from someone who owned them. Ether way I finally got to watch it. I didn’t realize how old this show was until I watched The Christmas special which was celebrating the Christmas of 1987!!!
Story is simple. Guy likes girl, Girl likes the guy, other girl likes the same guy. A simple triangle which goes on and on. The gimmick this show had was that the main character has paranormal powers.
I just concluded it today, It concluded with spiraling twist of events that lead these characters to grow up and apart from something that they were so comfortable to be in.
One line from the conclusion from one of the main characters, “I can’t let go. Every time something happens I want to tell you first about it. How can it end like this!!!” Soo sad!!!
After watching it I realize that I know why this remains a classic among animation—even if it like 20 something years old.

"ooh darling!" i like the stupid girl .. she is so cute!! too bad that guy was so undecisive!! it is like men in real life!! hmpf!
