Bye Bye Comcast???

I've just spent a good 20 mins on the phone with comcast,
or should i say the comcast RENTETION DEPT. Since I got direct TV I figured I needed to switch to the cheaper SBC dsl to cover my monthly costs...

Well this is what I was offered....

From my monthly $58 bucks I pay now to $35... I know when I was staying at my parents home I could easily gotten $20 a month if i complained enough, but I am neither a new customer nor was I a CABLE TV customer...

So after an INFORMATIVE talk about comcast internet features that, we cut straight to the chase. $35 bucks for the next 6 months. I guess i can always threaten again to leave when 6 months comes around.
One thing i did find interesting was that Comcast was offering me a BUY BACK option against my direct TV to get me as a comcast cable watcher.

Pretty much they setup a payment which would buy back the dish equipment and buy me out my dish contract if i wanted to go with them instead of dish!!! I thought that to be pretty bold of Comcast!!

I figure $35 for the 4.0 plan to be a good price considering dsl cost 25$ for a 3.0mb plan. Or she offered $45 for the 8.0mb plan.. Pretty tempting but Im not going to use that kind of speed at all. Heck, I was considering just going with the $15 1.5mb plan from sbc!

She kept pushing saying, "Comon, don't you play alot of Fps like half life? There is nothing like Lo lag fraggin..."
That of course followed by me answering that I dont play too many web games anymore and i use the web to pay my bills.

Then she said, "well, doesnt it suck when it takes forever To pay the bills?? You could pay em at the speed of light!

I thought that more of a laugh... It seemed geniune enough. I wonder if they teach this kinda of responses in training!
