Missing the Action

Man! Figures Walgreens will go on strike when I no longer work for them! It's too bad (sigh) -- Some time off due to the strike will be great for me. It will give me an excuse to finally stay home and rest.

Though I know many others are worry about their job and financial security, I personally, will take this time off and ENJOY IT!! Afterall, getting your vacation days approved from Walgreens is just as hard as trying to win the lottery. You have to work so many zillion years before you are on top of the seniority list for anything (vacation approved, store bids, etc).

On a serious note, I am glad that the Union finally decide to fight for better working condition. Heavy workload, shortage in technician help, and no lunch/dinner break are only a few of the problems retail pharmacists have to deal with on a daily basis. As for the Walgreens spoke-person tonight on all the news channel --- "... On the average, Walgreens pharmacy does about 280s prescription in a day. And with that, we have about 3 pharmacists for that pharmacy... Some pharmacy have about 5-6 pharmacists..." Hmm.....?!?!?! I don't know what Walgreens is he referring to -- but the 24 hour Hyde Park Walgreens does like 600+ scripts a day and it ONLY have THREE pharmacists on duty (on Sunday, when we do 500s ... we got TWO!!). Are we overwhelm?! I THINK SO!!

The company sure doesn't know how to do math. I got a certified letter today saying that 200 pharmacists so far have resigned, which is 20% of the union. Bullsh*t. 200/1200 = 16.7%, not 20%. The company is so misleading the public as well as some of its gullible employees.

BTW, the union puts the figure at 10%, which has been expected. I'm not worried unless the figure goes higher. Strike! Strike!

yeah... i heard about the 10-20% thingy too. personally, i will wait it out a little longer to see how things went before signing off the union.

You have to figure not everyone voted for a strike
So lets say the MOST; 80% of your rphs voted strike.
You got 20% who voted against it, so they might just leave.. At 20% u got 240rphs. I think it would most likely be 30% vote against a strike which would put it at 360 rphs going back.

I'd worry when there is more than 50% going back. Then you have to worry about just being fired.
