Today is my 1st day at my new job -- Forum Extended Care in Skokie. My Hospice team consist of only 6 people (2 full-time technicians, Director, Manager, and me). So far, everyone had been really nice and helpful in orienting me to the new company.
Instead of dealing with the patients directly, I mostly just deal with their nurses. Prescriptions are generally called in or left on our voice mail. The most stressful part of the job is having the medications ready for the scheduled delivery time. Probably the only down-size of the new job is the on-call. On-call is rotated among the 3 pharmacists every week. We can acesss our pharmacy system at home -- so hopefully, most calls can be taken care of without going back to work.
For the 1st time since I started working as a pharmacist ... I was able to sit down and ENJOY my lunch. Not bad... not bad at all.
P.S. New pics are posted from our Toronto Trip

Yeah, this is one of the reasons I didn't want u to work retail. The ability to sit down and eat lunch. Its nice to have a lunch rather than chowing down a bag a chips and soda while filling.
And you can actually PLAN a vacation!!! I hate asking for vacation days 15 months in advance! Then when u plan the days off during OCTOBER of the preceeding year you get denied for days off that are during the months April to Sept!
ahh. Stories such as this and Frank's, makes me want to find another job. But the hazard pay and job security is just enough to keep me going into the trenches.
And i dont have to drive to 62th/western or 55th and lakepark to pick u up any more!!! YIPPEE!!!
Its just around the corner... Down the block!!! and Right BY BEST BUY!!!
If you're gonna get your butt kicked at work, get it kicked near home.
At least I never had to drive all the way up to Round Lake Beach.
