I went to Target today to pick up some dog food and noticed their many aisles of make-up in the store. It ranges from L'Oreal, Revlon, Maybelline, Almay, and to everything else I never knew existed. So, for a girl who rarely wear any make-up (due to two reasons -- #1. Too lazy to apply it whenever I go out and #2. I find that the make-up tend to wear off anyway by the time I go from Point A to Point B), I was wondering what was the difference between these make-up compared to department stores one (ie. Estee Lauder, Clinique, Prescriptive, and etc). I mean, the prices among the generics vs. brand is huge. A lipstick from Cover Girl can cost around $6-$10 while one from Prescriptive may be up to about $20-$30. So does more $$$ means better quality with make-up? I have no clue. Maybe the lipstick does stay on longer or the mascara don't smear as easily ... Or maybe it is just a marketing gimmick in which the consumer thinks they get better quality for their money.
Oh well, I am still searching for my "perfect" lip color AND for it to stay on for more than 1 hour!!

I've heard this from the pharmacy world,
"I dont buy GENERICS because they are POISON!"
I guess the only way to know is really to compare the ingredients and not to get fooled by the brand name itself or maybe to just try. I will let you know that when I did wear blush, my Clinique vs. my mom's Christian Dior actually makes a difference. I had to apply so much just so the color would show up (my clinique). But when I put on my moms, it came on so easily and effortlessly. You know that in general makeup is not good for your skin, so the less you apply, the better. So with my moms CD, you don't really have to apply as much and get better results. And plus, would you trust something that is cheaper? Why would it cost less to make something? I'm not sure if it's only the brandname, so that is why I said to look and compare the ingredients.
I just ordered some make-up from Sephora -- including a blush from Dior. So we'll see how it compared to the rest ... =I
Ohh, I love that store. Sephora is seriously the makeup heaven!
