Sounds like a tacky movie?? It did to me, but I had confidence in the movie in the fact that it was a retro-type 1920's radio show type movie. This new gendre was something of an eye opener and this is what attracted me to this film.
If no one knows, Sky Captain is about a Sky Captain(Jude Law) and a reporter(Gwynethn Paltrow) caught up in a mystery that will destroy the world if they do not do intercede. Its a snore-plot with amazing special effects with a blurry type environment which either totally got you amazed or as Michelle would say, "gave me a headache."
The setting is Pre-WWII era where the aircraft are amphibious and who's fuel is limitless, except for the trip to the middle of nowhere. If you can get past the comic-book and radio type feel of the movie, then you can enjoy the beauty of the landscapes and the awe at the spectacular Blue-screens which were used to make this feature a film.
I give it a 4 out of 5 stars. It is up there with spiderman 2 because as spidey says... With great power comes great responsibility. With this one we shall say, with great acting, chemistry and presentation added with originality comes greatness! Great responsibility comes when a sequel is made!
The blurry effect didn't give me the headache this time .... =) It just make me feel like I just woke up and watched a movie. Overall, I liked the movie. The characters were cute and it entertained me.

I was a little hesitant to see this movie but based on your positive review, I think I'll go see it.
Just remember that it is a bit corny,
but it is still FUN!
